Art In Treasured Spaces
  • Art in Treasured Spaces

Through our Art in Treasured Spaces initiative, the Office of the Comptroller of Maryland is welcoming professional art exhibits curated by Maryland organizations to be displayed in the historic Louis Goldstein Treasury Building located in downtown Annapolis. The exhibits will be seen by the 1000+ state employees who work in the Annapolis Treasury Complex, as well as by government officials and members of the public who regularly visit the building.

    Program Details:

    • Location: Exhibits will be installed on the 1st Floor of the Treasury Building located at 80 Calvert Street in Annapolis, Maryland. There are two hallways, each of which is 90 feet long. Additional space is available in the foyer, if needed.
    • Timeframe: Exhibits are displayed on a rotating basis for a period of three to six months.
    • The Comptroller’s Office will provide a space should the organization wish to host an evening reception with the Comptroller and other government officials. Associated expenses would be covered by the organization. Any distributed materials at the reception should not disclose price of artwork.
    • Signage will be displayed in the Treasury Building to highlight the exhibit.

    Exhibit Information and Requirements:

    • Photos of exhibit pieces must be submitted prior to installation for approval. The Comptroller’s Office will need to review all exhibit pieces.
    • Professional art created by emerging and established artists that is appropriate for people of all ages.
    • Pieces must be 2-dimensional and framed.
    • The organization is responsible for installing and removing the artwork.
    • The Comptroller’s Office is not able to accept shipped items or store artwork prior to the installation.
    • Artwork will need to be installed using the hanging rail system installed in the Treasury Building.
    • Installation/break down to occur during the workday (Monday-Friday; 8:30am-4:30pm).
    • Labels should be provided for each piece of artwork identifying the title and artist (pricing cannot be displayed).
